Isabelle Hope Floate

Isabelle Hope Floate, 97, formerly of Hartford, was called home on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Waltonwood at Carriage Park in Canton, Mich.

Isabelle was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Sault Ste. Marie, to her parents William and Wilamena Trickey. Isabelle was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, Raymond on Sept. 23, 2004, and a son, William.

Isabelle is survived by her daughter, Paula (Zach) Holmes of Plymouth, Mich.; two grandchildren, Zach G. Holmes of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Christine (Nick) Leto of Surprise, Ariz.; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Alexandra; and a daughter-in-law, Carole Floate of Lake Bluff, Ill.

Isabelle, or "Belva" as she was known, graduated with a bachelors degree from Michigan State University. She was a long time member of the Hartford United Methodist Church. After her husband passed away, she had no choice but to move to Plymouth, Mich. to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law.

The family will welcome friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at the Hartford United Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of life service officiated by the Rev. Ronald W. Hansen. Isabelle will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hartford Public Library.
