Irma Margaret Anderson

Irma Margaret Anderson, of Hartford was born on March 21, 1930, in Germany. She was the daughter of Otto and Ella (Gehner) Gartner. Irma passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Caretel Inn of Lakeland in St. Joseph.


On July 31, 1948, Irma and Douglas Anderson were united in marriage. Douglas passed away on Dec. 26, 1995. Also preceding her in passing were her parents; and three sisters: Arlette Kraemer, Carol Kraemer and Dianne Raucci.


Irma is survived by three sons: Robert (Monica) Anderson, Kenneth Anderson and William (Debra) Anderson; and a daughter, Tammy (Tom) Rodgers. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Kraemer and John Kraemer; and a sister, Rita Musick.


Irma was formerly employed at the Van Buren County Hospital as a nurse and for many years as the bookkeeper for the Hartford Harding’s Market.


On Monday, April 29, at 11 a.m., a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford. Father German Perez-Diaz will be the celebrant. Irma will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. There will be a family and friend gathering later on in the summer.
