Irene Eunice Emery

Irene (Glasgow) Emery, 96, of Hartford went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. She was born May 25, 1927, in Dunklin County, Mo., to William Jackson and Myrtle Eaton.

Irene is survived by her children: Linda Gray of Benton Harbor, Janice (Jerry) Summerford of Coloma, Pat (Gary) Purcell of Coloma, Myra (David) Kelley of Hartford and Earnest ‘Lucky’ Glasgow Jr., (Lonna Adams) of Keeler. She is also survived by two sisters: Mary Jackson and Rose Sexton; 11 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents: William and Myrtle Jackson; brothers: Ruebin, Ira and Stoney Jackson; sisters: Goldie Keller and Juanita Miller; a son-in-law, Russell Gray; and lifelong friend, Esther Goldamer.

Irene was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship. Her passion was teaching adult Sunday School throughout the years.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, at Word of Life, Watervliet, with visitation taking place from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Her final resting place will be in the Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the church, Word of Life, 330 S. Pleasant St., Watervliet, MI 49098.
