Gloria Lois Winans

Gloria Winans, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, after a long illness at the home of her son, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on June 25th, 2024. Born in Hartford, Michigan, in 1940, to Roy and Nellie Helmer (Jones), Gloria’s life was a shining example of love, dedication, and joy.

A proud graduate of Hartford High School, Gloria married the love of her life, Larry Winans, of Watervliet, in 1961. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey filled with adventure and companionship. Gloria and Larry delighted in traveling the country, tending to their cherished property near Rush Lake, and spending time with their many dear friends in Tennessee, whom they considered extended family.

Gloria is survived by her sons, Karl (Kork) and Kris Winans; and grandson, Joshua Winans. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry; her parents, Roy and Nellie; and her brother, Donald.

Gloria’s warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit, touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered by her family and friends.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral services. A private burial of her remains will be held at a future date.
