Glenn Gordon Baushke, 88, of Sister Lakes passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at home, with his family by his side.
Glenn, or "Doc" as he was known, was born Oct. 23, 1924, in Benton Township, the son of Phillip and Minnie (Clemens) Baushke, both of whom preceded him in passing. Also preceding him in passing were his first wife, Wanda; second wife, June; three daughters: Joann, Gail and Katherine; and three brothers: Harold, Victor and Jesse.
Glenn was formerly employed with Bendix of St. Joseph. He served his country proudly in the Merchant Marines and the Army during World War II. In his spare time he loved to golf, play cards with his friends and was a big fan of the Detroit Tigers. His biggest joy was working in his garden and attending to the many flowers around the house. Glenn was a member of the Celery City Post 6248 of Decatur and the Sister Lakes Lions Club.
Glenn is survived by three children: Robert (Sandy) Baushke, Charlotte (Bob) Tharp and Jim (Andrea) Klett; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, with one on the way; a son-in-law, Frank Anzenberger; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Baushke.
The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Keeler General Baptist Church, where the service to honor his memory will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, with Pastor Efrain Maya officiating. Burial will follow in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Glenn's name be made to Hospice Care of Paw Paw, Sister Lakes Lions Club or the Celery City Post 6248 of Decatur.
