Gerald F. Price

Gerald “Jerry” F. Price, 78, was born March 17, 1938, in Benton Harbor, one of three children born to Benjamin (Frank) and Anna (Poloshak) Price, both of whom precede him in passing. Jerry was also preceded in passing by a daughter, Darlynn C. Price in 2008; and a sister, Shirley Bryant. Jerry passed away at home on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016.

The family will welcome friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. As to Jerry's wishes, cremation has taken place. On Aug. 28, 1957, Jerry was united in marriage to Marybeth Phillips. She survives along with their two children, Cammy Smith and Jerry Price, both of Watervliet; six grandchildren, April Montgomery, Eric Scherer, Laura Zuhde, Nick Smith, Willow Price and Levi Price; great-grandson, Chase Smith; 11 other great-grandchildren; and his sister, Adeline Grinley of Saint Joseph.

Jerry served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, including time spent on the U.S.S. Independence. He was a semi-truck driver with Holland Motors Express for over 30 years. His family ran Frank's Grocery Store in Benton Heights during his teenage years. He also enjoyed bowling with his family.
