Gary Lee Brink

Gary Lee Brink, 62, of Hartford passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, followed at 2 p.m. with a celebration of life service to honor Gary's memory. Chuck Ishmael, David Powers and Tony Herman will be officiating. As to Gary's wishes, cremation will follow the service. After the services, a gathering will take place at the Decatur VFW Hall, where food will be provided and a dish to pass is welcome. Gary was born on Nov. 21, 1954, in Paw Paw, the son of Paul and Ruth (Ishmael) Brink. He was employed at Stryker Corp. of Kalamazoo for 35 years. He was often seen riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed camping, reading, movies of all kinds, but especially westerns, and was a big Elvis Presley fan, for both his music and the movies that he starred in. Gary also loved the times he spent with his family.

Gary married the former Janine Goodrich on Nov. 4, 1989, she survives; along with two daughters, Jennifer (Adam) Gorka of Stevensville and Brandi Brink of Summerville, S.C. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Rachelle Brink, Ryan Brink, Dakota Brink and Ayden Gorka; a great-grandchild, Eli Shelton; his mother, Ruth; and a sister, Debra (Jim) Griffin of Lawrence.

Gary was preceded in passing by a daughter, Tiffany Ann Brink; his father, Paul; and a brother, Frederick.
