Frederick William Moon, 76, of Hartford passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at Meadow Woods in Bloomingdale.
Fred, as he was known, was born Feb. 13, 1940, in Lawton, the son of Harold and Edna (Kinney) Moon, both of whom preceded him in passing. He was also preceded in death by three sisters: Edna, Mable and Harriet.
Fred was formerly employed at Friday Tractor of Hartford, was a bartender at the Main Tavern in Hartford, owned and operated the Country Corner in Sister Lakes and most recently had his own tire business at his home in Hartford.
Fred married Ellen Miller on Dec. 14, 1973, and she survives along with three daughters: Jean Nail and Robbin Smith both of Hartford and Mable Zimmerman of Bangor; four sons: Steven (Virginia) McNeese of Sherman, Texas, Kendall McNeese of Peoria, Ill., Chris Moon of Marcellus and Lonnie McCormick of Comstock. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Moon Jr.; and a sister, Bertha Selby; along with many other family members; and friends.
The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 1, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. There will be no interment for cremation has taken place.
