Francis Catherine Vermilyer

Francis Catherine Vermilyer, 60, of Watervliet passed away suddenly Friday, July 26, 2024, at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, Mich.


Francis was born Nov. 30, 1963, in Portageville, Mo., the daughter of Albert and Mary (Davis) Halcomb, both of whom preceded her in passing.


Francis was formerly employed at Duo-Tang of Paw Paw and Mann Metal of Hartford.


Francis is survived by two daughters: Amanda Palmer of Coloma and Samantha Halcomb of Hartford and a son, Mike Thompson of Hartford, along with nine grandchildren: Robert, Skyler, Tyler, Albert, Kristopher, Breanna, Seth, Alexis and Brielle; three great-grandchildren: Bryson, Brody and Aurora; eight sisters: Shirley Herron, Alice Wade, Linda Sexon, Debbie Gomez, Helen Vermilyer, Sandra Spangler, Nellie Jones and Bobbie Owens; and numerous other family members and friends.


As per Francis’ wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Paw Paw River Campgrounds in Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Francis’ name may be made to the family. The Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
