Eugene Edwin Snodgrass

Eugene Edwin Snodgrass, 84, of Hartford, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to his rest Nov. 23, 2014.

Eugene was born July 5, 1930, to Vern and Fern (Jackson) Snodgrass in South Bend. He was a self-employed carpenter, which is why he did so much wood work. He also loved to go camping and repair lawn mowers.

Eugene leaves behind his loving family, which includes his children: Connie (Frank) Yerington of Bangor; and Eugene (Linda Hill) Snodgrass Jr., Ron (Jean) Snodgrass, Larry (Deborah) Snodgrass and Michelle Rittase (Ryan Watson), all of Hartford; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Everet "Butch" Wiles of Cassopolis.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, the former Veronica "Bonnie" Swisher; his parents; and five brothers.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Hartford Federated Church, where a service to honor his memory will begin at 1 p.m., with Pastor Steven Bisbee and David Geisler officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial donations in Eugene's name may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
