Eleanor Edna Dodd

Eleanor Edna Dodd of South Haven, formerly of Keeler, was born on Feb. 23, 1927, in Wayne, Mich., the daughter of William and Elsie (Himmelreich) Long. Eleanor passed away at the age of 95, on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022, at A Place Called Home in Stevensville.

On May 11, 1946, Eleanor and Robert Dodd were united in marriage. Eleanor is survived by three sons: David (Jan) Dodd of Portage, Dennis (Beverly) Dodd of Dowagiac and Phillip Dodd of Arizona; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marian Tiefel and Ann (Arnie) Braun both of South Lyon, Mich.; and numerous nieces, nephews; other family members and friends.

Eleanor was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert, on Nov. 19, 1996; her parents; and eight siblings.

The family will welcome friends from noon-1 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in South Haven, where at 1 p.m. a celebration of life service to honor Eleanor’s memory will commence. Pastor Steve Daley will officiate. As to Eleanor’s wishes cremation will follow the service and she will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Calvin Funeral Home of Hartford is assisting the family with arrangements.
