Edmund Lee Schmalfeldt

Edmund Lee Schmalfeldt, 63, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Edmund was born on Aug. 15, 1959, in Benton Harbor, the son of William and Ida (Burns) Schmalfeldt, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing were two brothers: Fred and Bill; and two sisters: Ida and June.

Edmund was a carpenter by trade, and was a member of Local Union 525. He was a simple man, who enjoyed animals, the outdoors and music. But, his most special times were spent with his family that he loved, especially his bond with his grandchildren.

Edmund is survived by children: Roxane Tate, Amanda (Thomas) Fitzner, Kristopher (Jessica) Moore, Shane (Erika) Moore, Jessica (Victor) Clark and Jeremy Moore; thirteen grandchildren; three brothers: Ivan (Kim) Schmalfeldt, Marvin (Kelley) Schmalfeldt and Ron Schmalfeldt; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will welcome friends from 2-3 p.m., on Thursday, April 27, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where the service to honor his memory will commence at 3 p.m. Following the service, cremation will take place.
