Eddie Dean Swanner

Eddie Dean Swanner, 62, of Bangor passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.

"Tootie," as he was known by many, was born June 10, 1951, in Athens, Ala., the son of David and Betty (Wright) Swanner. He was formerly employed with Duffy Motts in Hartford. He loved farming, hunting and fishing, and he adored his family.

Eddie was preceded in passing by his father, David; and a brother, Teddy Steve Swanner.

Eddie married Debbie Cullum on June 13, 1981. She survives, along with a son, Michael Cullum of Bangor; his mother, Betty Friel of Hartford; three sisters: Peggy Swanner of Hartford, Angela Jackson of Dowagiac and Patsy (Donald) Farley of Bangor; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends.

The family will welcome friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where the service to honor his memory will commence at 5 p.m. Pastor Ernest Glasgow will officiate. Burial will be in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eddie's name may be made to the family.
