Earl Wayne Higgins was born to Exell and Roy Higgins on April 24, 1944, in Missouri. Earl went to be with the Lord on Nov. 20, 2013, with his children and grandchildren by his side.
Earl grew up in Missouri, then he went into the Army, where he was a cook and a M.P. He moved to Michigan, where he met the love of his life and her son, both of whom have already gone to be with the Lord. Earl retired from Michigan Tube. Earl loved his family very much, and they loved him very much, as well.
Earl leaves behind a family who loves him very much, including four children: Joseph Higgins of Dowagiac; April (Dan) Blevins of Hartford; Linda (Don) Fischer of Coloma; and Cheryl (Richie) Carlyle of Berrien Springs; seven granddaughters; six grandsons; three great-grandsons; two brothers: Larry and George Higgins, both of Missouri; and three sisters: Shelby Moore and Brenda Thrasher, both of Missouri; and Regina Krieger of Michigan; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in passing by his wife, Linda Higgins; a son, David Baldwin; and his parents.
As to Earl's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service to honor Earl's memory will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, with Pastor Shannon Truelove of the Full Gospel Assembly Church of Hartford officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Earl's name may be made to the family. Memorial condolences for the family may be left at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
