Douglas Andrew Boze

July 15, 1946 — April 25, 2016

Douglas Andrew Boze was born July 15, 1946, in Watervliet. He was one of three children born to Andrew and Betty (Anderson) Boze. Doug, as he was known to everyone, passed away at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo on Monday April 25, 2016.

Douglas worked for Benton Harbor Engineering for 25 years, Dean's Foods for a number of years and Palisades Nuclear Plant, where he later retired. He loved tending to the flowers in his garden, but more importantly, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, April 29, at the Decatur First Reformed Church, followed by a service to honor Doug's memory. The Rev. Mark Hofstra will officiate. Private burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the church or VFW Celery City Post 6248 of Decatur. Memorial condolences for the family can be left on our website at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.

On Nov. 8, 1968, Doug was united in marriage to Betty Glass. She survives along with their two sons, Scott (Dawn) Boze of Benton Harbor and Michael Boze of Hartford. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Christopher Riley, Michael Boze, Katie Boze, Dustin Boze, Nicholas Boze and Johanna Boze, a sister, Dianne (Patrick) Deja of Rockford, Mich.; a brother, Rick (Deb) Boze of Lawrence; his mother-in-law, Johanna Glass of Zeeland, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Terry (Carole) Glass of Grand Rapids; and a sister-in-law, Kristy (Terry) Isenga of Drenthe, Mich.
