Doris Mae Viola Grace

August 10, 1941 — September 9, 2014

Doris Mae Viola Grace, 73, of Coloma passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at her home.

Doris was born Aug. 10, 1941, in Baltimore, Md., the daughter of Elmer and Doris (Telmyer) Zick, both of whom preceded her in passing. Also preceding her in passing were her husband, Earl Grace III; a grandson, Adam Corvin; and a brother, Leroy Zick.

Doris was a longtime resident of Maryland, and was a loyal Orioles and Ravens fan. When not rooting for her favorite teams, she loved watching her grandchildren play sports. She tended bar at the Rossville Saloon and worked at Hawthorne Crown Bowling Alley in Baltimore. While a resident in St. Petersburg, Fla., she owned and operated The Oyster Shucker and enjoyed working at Tropicana Bowling Lanes.

Doris is survived by her loving cockatiel, Lucky; a son, Steven (Sue) Parsons of North Carolina; three daughters: Stephanie (Marvin Sponaugle) Wild and Susan (Brian) Anderson, both of Maryland; and Tara (Rene) Ledesma of Michigan; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister; Barbara Wollschlager, and two brothers, Raymond Oliphant and Harry Zick, all of Maryland; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

As per Doris' wishes, cremation has taken place and her ashes will be returned to her beloved Maryland, where they will be entombed at Oak Lawn Cemetery at 10 A.M. on Saturday, September 20, 2014. From 11 A.M. to 3 P.M., family and friends will gather in Rosedale Park for a time of fellowship and remembering the life of Doris Grace. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford with the arrangements. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
