August 3, 1929 — July 11, 2017

Donald Dean Rose, 87, of Hartford passed away Tuesday July 11, 2017, at Caretel Inns of Lakeland.

Don was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Hartford, the son of Donald and Delta (Rassette) Rose. He attended Hartford Public Schools and then served his country proudly in the United States Navy, where he was an electrician. Upon his return to Hartford he married Julia VanDeWiele and they were married for 65 years. In 1964, Don and Julie began Rose Well Drilling. Through many long hours of hard work he built a business that he loved. Hundreds of people had wells drilled by Don. His work was appreciated by many. He enjoyed hunting for pheasants and geese, however some of his best times were spent fishing on his boat, "Time Out".

Don is survived by his wife, Julie; daughter, Diane (David) Kroschel of Coloma; son, Randy of Bangor; four grandchildren that he adored: Courtney Kroschel, Jacoby Kroschel, Hunter Rose and Logan Rose. He is also survived by his brother, Wayne Rose of Hartford.
