Donald Eugene Harte

Donald Eugene Harte, 91, of Hartford passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A celebration of life service to honor Donald’s memory will be at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 12, at the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hartford. Pastor Frederick S. Adrian will officiate. The family will welcome friends from 10-11 a.m., prior to the service, on Wednesday, July 12. Donald will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford, with full military rites. The family has requested that those wishing to make a donation do so to the church. Donald was born on June 29, 1932, in Benton Harbor the son of Emil and Carolyn (Hopp) Harte. He was a graduate of Hartford High School, had a gladiola farm, worked at Rudies, Sundstrand, Sears, and loved to work in the yard. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Donald is survived by three daughters: Carol (Steve) Weatherford of Vicksburg, Mich., Katherine (Michael) Elsner of Coloma and Mary Quinones of Benton Harbor. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Donald was preceded in passing by a son, David Harte; his parents; and a brother, Harold Harte.
