Donald Leroy Haney, Sr.

Donald Leroy Haney Sr. of Hartford, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his home. He was 67 years young.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, followed by a graveside service at Fairview Memorial Cemetery. The North Berrien Military Rites Team will then conduct Military rites, followed by a service to honor Donald's life, with Pastor Steven Bisbee officiating. Donald was born Aug. 6, 1947, in Lawrence, the son of Wesley F. and Vivian (Cross) Haney, both of whom precede him in passing. He was also preceded by a son, Wesley A. Haney and a brother, David Haney.

After graduating from Hartford High School, Donald served his country proudly in the United States Army serving in Vietnam War. He returned to Hartford following the service and married the former Barbara Sue White on Aug. 20, 1977. Donald worked in construction with Wes Knapp Construction and with the Coloma Schools as a custodian. He loved the outdoors, especially spending time in the woods.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons: Donald (Angie) Haney and Tim Haney; two granddaughters: Natasha Haney and Alisha Haney all of Hartford, and many other family members and friends.
