Don Edward Mills

Don Edward Mills, 76, of Hartford passed away Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland, Royalton Township.

Don was born July 16, 1944, in Watervliet, the son of Edward and Bessie (Hickman) Mills, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing are a son, Kevin Mills and a sister, Anna Lee Mills.

Don was formerly employed with Contech, LLC in Dowagiac. He was a lifetime member of the Van Buren Sportsman’s Club and served his community as a member of the Keeler Fire Department from 1986 to 1995.

Don is survived by three daughters: Marciella Mills of Gray Summit, Mo, Tracy (Robert) Slinkard of House Springs, Mo., and Angelia (Pete) Hernandez of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Myron Salnave.

As per Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial celebration of life will take place at a later date when current restrictions are relaxed.
