Diana Kay Downey

Diana Kay Downey, 64, of Dowagiac passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and wife, Diana loved her music with a stereo always seeming to be playing. She was a great cook, known for her pineapple upside down cakes, beef stroganoff and more. Creative and caring, she came up with games for kids like who sings this song, and a squiggle line game they liked to play to pass time.

Diana was born on Nov. 6, 1959, in Watervliet, the daughter of Harry and Norma (Moore) Smith.

Diana is survived by her two sons: Brian (Corrina) Sheridan, and Bradley Joseph Sheridan; four grandchildren: Micah, Emma, Lydia and Isaac and a brother, David (Tina) Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Downey and her parents.

The family will welcome friends at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at the Midway Baptist Church in Watervliet. Pastor Ron Hayes will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Midway Baptist Church. The Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford is assisting the family with arrangements.
