Deloris Jane Wesaw was born March 3, 1965, the daughter of Thomas Sr. and Marian (Medawis) Wesaw. She passed away suddenly at the age of 58 on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at her home in Coloma.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where a traditional Native American service will take place at noon. Deloris will be laid to rest in Rush Lake Indian Cemetery, Hartford Township. Kevin Daugherty will conduct the service. Deloris was a member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. She was formerly employed at Kewadin Casino as a black jack dealer.
Deloris leaves behind to cherish her memory, two daughters, Jessica Sample and Melony (Brandon Gage) Williams; her grandchildren: Marianna Sample, Brooke Lopez, Bianca Rodriguez, Evan Lopez, Esteban Rodriguez, Olivia Rodriguez, Logan Lopez, Adrianna Rodriguez and Cruz Rodriguez. She also is survived by six siblings: Janet (John) Thomas, Mary (Steve) Winchester, Thomas Wesaw Jr., Charles (Stacy Weaver) Wesaw, Sharon (Forrest) Pratt and Tammi Baier; nieces and nephews: Andrea Wesaw, Marcus Winchester, Jared Winchester and Thomas Nelson Wesaw III; along with numerous other family members and friends.
Deloris was preceded in passing by a daughter, Rhianon Wesaw; her parents; and two sisters, Marilyn Wesaw and Beverly Wesaw.
