Deborah Gretchen Bedwell

Deborah Gretchen Bedwell, 64, of Hartford went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2022.

Deborah was born on March 17, 1958, in Mansfield, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Talma (Gorman) Boggs, both of whom precede her in passing. She was also preceded by her nephew, David Perry.

On Nov. 16, 1996, Deborah was united in marriage with Chad Bedwell, and he survives, along with six children: Stephanie (Michael) Blanchard, Jason Hathcock, Martin Bedwell, Mia Greene, Ray Bedwell and Katelynn Bedwell. She is also survived by two step-daughters, Amy Davis and Jobina Cherilus; three grandchildren: Savannah Swearengin, Sierra Swearengin and Blair McMeeken; three great-grandchildren: Jaxxon Russell, Nixon Richter and Maren Swearengin; and a sister, Bonnie Perry.

Deborah was a woman of such strong faith that was called by God to minister to children, and she took that calling to heart. She spent many years as youth leader at church. She opened her home, and her heart, to 15 foreign exchange students from all over the world, whom she loved as her own. She later went on to foster children; two of which she adopted. She made a huge impact on the lives of so many people and will be missed beyond words.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Dec. 5, from 6-8 p.m., at the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Hartford, where the service to honor Deborah’s memory will commence at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 6, with Pastors Shannon and Lonnie Truelove officiating. As to Deborah’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Those wishing to make a memorial may do so to the church. The Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
