Dean surrendered his life to the Lord at age 16. He spent 30 years teaching the Bible to children as a local missionary. He loved his family dearly and was preceded in death by his father, Gordon.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret; sister, Mardelle Carter; brother, Keith; wife, Cherie; four children: Andy (Caitlin), Amy (Joel) Hodgson, Aaron (Emily) and Adam (Steena); as well as nieces, nephews and 10 1/2 grandchildren. Dean and his family were very blessed by the outpouring of love and prayers on their behalf.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Hartford Federated Church. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Hartford High School.
