David Stanley Geisler was born May 18, 1930 to Esther (Richter) Geisler and Stanley Geisler, and went home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2024.
David was raised on his family farm. He attended Michigan State University, where he was a member of “Farm House” fraternity and graduated in Agriculture in 1951.
David married Reta Jane Pomeroy of Hartford in December 1951. They soon moved to the Geisler Brothers Farm, where David took on increasing responsibility. The farm would be recognized for its innovations and variety of operations in the years to come. They had three daughters: Rebecca, Nancy and Sarah and four grandchildren.
David was actively involved in the Hartford Federated Church (now Hartford Bible Church), a board member of Hartford Public Schools, and a founder and board member of Grace Christian School in Watervliet.
David was preceded in death by his parents: Esther and Stanley Geisler; his sister, Helene Snodgrass; sons-in-law: Michael Kenworthy and Gary Clark and his beloved wife, Reta.
He is survived by daughters: Rebecca Clark of Seattle, Nancy Kenworthy of St. Joseph, Sarah Kurtz and her husband, Martin of Eau Claire and by his grandchildren: Erik Kenworthy, Katie Kurtz, Mollie Maciel and her husband, Cameron and Emilie Kurtz. His grandchildren were so special to him. His family will miss his wisdom, humor, and willingness to help at every turn.
A family memorial is planned for late summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hartford Bible Church. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
