David Bruce Brown

David Bruce Brown was born June 7, 1950, in Watervliet, the son of Clyde and Edith (Coker) Brown.

David passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. Preceding David in passing were his parents; and a brother, Steven Brown.

Dave, as he was known by most, is survived by his children: Duane “Eric” (Deanna) Brown of Hartford, Jessica (Paul) Shagen of St. Joseph, Gabrielle (Brad) Herm of Sugarland, Texas, and Simone Brown of Battle Creek, Mich.; six grandchildren: Jordan, Phillip, Amara, Cora, Fabian and Holden (who is on the way); and one great-grandchild, Mckynlee. He is also survived by six siblings: Delores (Willie J.) Proctor of Brentwood, Tenn., Judy (the Rev. Robert E.) Johnson of East Chicago, Ind., Clyde (Carol) Brown of Kalamazoo, Joyce Moser of Hastings, Albert (Debbie) Brown of Lawrence and Jeffrey (Judy) Brown of Hartford; and numerous other family members and friends.

Dave was a 1968 graduate of Hartford High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then went to work for Palisades Nuclear Plant from which he retired after 32 years of faithful employment.

The family will welcome friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Hartford. A celebration of life service to honor Dave’s memory will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, with Pastor Shannon Truelove officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family requests memorial donations in David’s name be made to Full Gospel Assembly Church. The Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
