Cynthia Marie Carlock

Cynthia “Cyndi” Marie Carlock, 65, of Hartford lost a long hard battle with cancer on Dec. 14, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital.

Cyndi, as she was known, was born Dec. 1, 1951, in Dowagiac, to Emerson and Ruby (Krager) Drake. Cyndi was the oldest of five children.

Her time was divided between her passions: flowers and plants, cooking, animals and family. Her impact in creating life through plants and flowers was magical. Her talent in the kitchen, loved by all, brought her great joy. Her cookies brought people from miles away and will be missed.

She had an enormous soft spot in her heart for the animals that were homeless or mistreated, however, her greatest passion lay in the love of her family.

Cyndi is survived by her husband, Joseph; son, Thomas (Carrie); daughter, Kelly (Sean); special niece, Chasadena Yakim; stepsons, Steve Carlock and Mike Carlock; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She will be loved and missed very much.

Cyndi was preceded in death by her father, and sister, Brenda.

The family will greet friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, followed by a celebration of life service to honor Cyndi's memory. The Rev. Boyd Saylor will officiate. Memorial condolences for the family may be left on our website at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
