Clotilde Hernandez

Clotilde Hernandez was born on July 8, 1948, in Raymondville, Texas, the daughter of Jose Chavarria and Amelia Gonzalez. She passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Oshtemo Township.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford, with a celebration of life service to follow, with the Rev. German Perez-Diaz as celebrant. As to her wishes, cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Clotilde was united in marriage to Jose Hernandez on May 16, 1969. She loved to play bingo and go to garage sales. Her most important times involved her family. She enjoyed taking care of them and the cookouts they shared together.

Clotilde is survived by her husband, Jose; three sons: Agustine (Juanita) Hernandez of Decatur, Jose A. Hernandez Jr. and Vicente Hernandez, both of Hartford; eight grandchildren: Israel, Irene, Jose, Elizabeth, Destiny, Diego, Zaniyah and Arabella; six great-grandchildren; and seven siblings: Sofia Rodriguez, Jose "Checo" Chavarria, Juanita Castro, Victor Chavarria, Paulo Rodriguez, Marcella Rodriguez and Juan Jose Chavarria, all of Raymondville, Texas.

Clotilde was preceded in passing by her parents.
