Christopher Craig Fry, 27, was born Feb. 18, 1988. He passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015.
He was a loving and very outgoing man. He would always go above and beyond and an extra two miles to help anybody in need. This man was known as a fantastic son, brother, father and grandson. He was always a huge risk taker, thrill seeker, and lived each and everyday to the fullest. Serving in Iraq, he was a member of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Hartford Fire Department and previously a member of the Keeler Fire Department. He was a certified commercial diver and dive medic. Chris also worked for Renaissance Athletic Club and American Electric Power. Another thing about this young man is he was definitely a people person, reeling 'em in with that smile of his. He was so confident and sure of himself, he made us all proud. He was the real American hero. He will never be forgotten and will be dearly missed.
A memorial service to honor Chris' memory will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Hartford Federated Church, with Pastor Steven Bisbee officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a children's college fund. The family has entrusted Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
Chris is survived by two daughters, Arrissa Fry of Mattawan and Madelyn Ross of Dowagiac; his parents, Lance (Debbie Everett) Fry and Susan (Angie Grider) Edgerly; a brother, Steven (Kourtnie Chaney) Fry of Hartford; paternal grandparents, Loren G. and Elaine Fry of Benton Harbor; maternal grandfather, Wells Edgerly of Hartford; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and countless friends.
