Charles Stewart Rowlee, Sr.

Charles Stewart Rowlee Sr., 65, of Lawrence passed away Monday, April 19, 2021, at home.


Charles was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Watervliet, the son of Clyde and Frieda (Fetke) Rowlee, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him are two brothers: Clyde and Carl Rowlee; a grandson, Jacob McCann; and a great-granddaughter, Maeliegh Hall.


Charles is survived by two daughters: Suzie (Jason) McCann of Newton, Ill., and Sally (Richard) Norg of Lawrence; two sons: Chuck (Melissa) Rowlee of Lawrence and Chad (Laura) Rowlee of Teutopolis, Ill.; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Connie Rowlee of Hartford; and a special friend, Edna Pugh of Lawrence.


As per Charles’ wishes, cremation will take place. The family will welcome friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 23, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where the service to honor his memory will commence at 2 p.m. The family will hold a reception following the service at 3 p.m. at the Lawrence American Legion.
