Charles Edward Bloomer

Charles Bloomer, 85, of Hartford passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home.

Charles was born January 14, 1928, in Metropolis, Ill., to Edward Bloomer and Opal (Richardson) Bloomer. On May 13, 1946, he married Elsie Edwards. He was a lifelong area farmer. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking photographs, mowing his yard and spending time with his family and dog.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Bloomer of Hartford; 4 sons: James (Veronica) Bloomer of Fla., JC (Patty) Bloomer, Carl (Linda) Bloomer and Charles "Bob" Bloomer all of Hartford; 6 daughters: Patsey Suarez, Drenda (Joe) Yurt and Marie (Bill) Ledford, all of Fla., Norma Bloomer of South Bend, Patricia (Bill) Harkey of Dowagiac and Tina (Steve) DeMaria of Benton Harbor. He loved all twenty-five of his grandchildren very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 children: Kenneth Bloomer, Ray Bloomer and Charlotte Sieber.

The family will welcome friends from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the Keeler General Baptist Church where the service to honor his memory will commence at 1 p.m. Pastor Efrain Maya will officiate. Charles will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery with private family services. The family asks that memorial donations in Charles' name be made to Hospice at Home or the Keeler General Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
