Carrol Lee Stokes, 78, of St. Joseph passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Carrol was born on Sept. 2, 1943, in Malvern, Ark., the son of Ed and Evelyn (Blasengame) Stokes, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing are a sister, Donna Jones; and grandmother, Ludy Spurlock.
Carrol served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and served after active duty in the reserves. He retired after many years from Whirlpool Corporation. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be missed dearly.
Carrol is survived by his wife, Rosemary; two daughters: Karen Stokes and Patricia (David) Stokes Heinz; three grandchildren: Natalie Stokes, Paul Stokes and Jessica Heinz; and brothers and sisters: Beverly Rammelkamp, Jaynice Kyles, David Jones, Roger Jones, Eddie Jones and Elesa Jones.
Carrol will be cremated, and a memorial service to honor his memory will commence at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, inside the conference room of the Holiday Inn, 3019 Lakeshore Drive, St. Joseph. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
