Carmen Elaine Goodson

Carmen Elaine Goodson, 65, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo.

Carmen was born March 10, 1954, in Sturgis, the daughter of Elroy and Audra (Babcock) Bupp, both of whom precede her in passing.

Carmen was formerly vice president and secretary of Wiltse Fencing in Watervliet for 35 years. She loved tending to her garden, planting flowers and watching the birds –  especially her favorites, hummingbirds and eastern bluebirds. However, her number one priority was her family that she loved dearly, especially her grandchildren. She was known as an outstanding cook and her grandchildren were known to get whatever their taste buds desired.

Carmen married Ernest Goodson on Aug. 1, 1970. He survives, along with two sons, Ernest (Erin) Goodson and David (Lisa) Goodson, both of Hartford; six grandchildren: Chase, Nick, Trey, Lainey, Lindsey and Lily; a brother, Elroy (Mary) Bupp Jr. of Fort Mill, S.C.; a sister, Sherry Bupp of Mishawaka, Ind.; and a nephew, Matthew Bupp.

The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 2, at the Full Gospel Assembly Church, Hartford. The service to honor Carmen’s memory will commence at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the church, with Pastor Shannon Truelove officiating. Burial will follow in Keeler Cemetery.
