Carlos Jovani Moreno

Carlos Jovani Moreno, 9 years old, of Hartford, passed away suddenly Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Carlos was born Sept. 11, 2004, in Watervliet, the son of Filiberto Moreno and Esperanza Rakins. He was a third-grader at Woodside Elementary in Hartford. He loved soccer, scooters and riding his bike.

Carlos is survived by his parents; two brothers, Uriel and Anthony Moreno-Aguilar; stepmother, Clara Aguilar; grandparents, Pastor Moreno and Catalina Paniagua; two aunts, Diana and Margarita Moreno; three uncles: Pastor, Rodrigo and Adrian Moreno; and godparents, Alejo Moreno and Diana Hurtado.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at noon Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Monsignor Leo Cartagena will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
