Buford Henry Mann of Hartford died at home Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at the age of 81. Buford was born to Jewell and Silvia (Longhorn) Mann on March 2, 1936, in Hardy, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Bill and Phillip Mann. On Nov. 4, 1994, he and Betty Larabee were united in marriage. She survives along with nine children: Robert Mann of New Mexico, Ailene (Lee) Morisy of Memphis, Tenn., Melinda (Steve) Koutz of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Ron (Eva) Mann of Valrico, Fla., Travis Mann of Sumner, Mo., Regina (Nicholas) Sullivan of Benton, Ark., Dan (Christine) Souliere of Kalamazoo, Corey (Laura) Souliere of Phoenix, and Stacey (Mark) Blocker of Hartford. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and eight siblings: Charles Mann, Imogene Boyd, Jewell Mann, Bob Goble, Shirley Lane, Peggy Mann, Larry Mann and Gary Mann; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and loads of friends.
While living in Phoenix, Buford owned and operated his own trucking business, Buford Mann Trucking. He loved the rodeo and was known to ride bulls. After moving to Michigan, he went to work at Mann Metal Finishing and drove truck up until his retirement. While relaxing he would often watch NASCAR and boxing. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.
The family will welcome friends for a time of fellowship from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford and a celebration of life service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either Marie Yeager Cancer Center, Saint Joseph or Caring Circle of South Haven.
