Betty June Henagan

Betty was born July 30, 1952, in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Ivan and Laura (Campbell) Orr. Betty passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at her home. She was preceded in death by her father, Ivan; a son, Derrick Ray Henagan; a grandson, Cane Raylynn Henagan; and a brother, Larry Orr.

Betty is survived by a son, Keith (Patricia) Henagan of Coloma; her mother, Laura of Hartford; her significant other, Thomas Strand; four grandchildren: Madline Henagan and Aislin Henagan both of Coloma, Rayce Henagan and Taylor Bly both of Kalamazoo; nephew, William Holley of Ohio; two stepchildren, Jenny (Rusty) Phillips of Lawrence, and Brandi Strand of Hartford; and four stepgrandchildren: Tarynn, Delaney, and Maddox Phillips and Landon Reyna; and very dear friends, Laura Scherer and Denise Fuller.

Betty enjoyed her time at the beach, tending to her flowers, watching the hummingbirds and especially loved spending time with all of her family and friends. Loved ones will always remember her as being kind and quick to help someone in need as well as her love of collecting Betty Boop memorabilia.

As to Betty's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will welcome friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Hartford. A memorial celebrating Betty's life will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Frederick S. Adrian officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Betty's name may be made to the church.
