Barry L. Baser, 71, of Covert passed away Monday, May 18, 2015, at his farm. Per his wishes cremation has taken place; there will be no service. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
Barry was born Feb. 25, 1944, in Benton Harbor to Nellie (Wilson) and Norton Baser of Benton Harbor. Barry served in the Army during the Korean War. On Nov. 26, 1966, he married Constance A. Brown of Homewood, Ill. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage, which was blessed with two sons, Bradley and Michael.
Barry was employed by the Berrien County Road Commission in Watervliet for many years. He purchased wooded land near Covert, turning that land into a productive homestead. He pursued his passion for farming, specializing in blueberries. During the winter, he enjoyed vacationing with Connie in the southern states. Anyone who knew Barry, behind his gruffness he was a teddy bear and a wonderful husband.
Barry is survived by his wife, Connie; sons Bradley (Brandy) of Covert and Michael (Alycin) of Mokena, Ill.; five grandsons, Dominick, Louis, Nicholas, Michael and Guy; sister Pamela (Dennis) Sanicki of Coloma; nephew Christopher (Christi) Sanicki of Ionia; and niece Becca (August) Bookout of Benton Harbor.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents.
