Barbara Mae Lumley

Barbara Mae Lumley, 78, of Lawrence passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020, at home.

Barbara was born June 13, 1941, in East Prairie, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Mary (Wallace) Griffin, both of whom precede her in passing.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Sheila Renfer and Alfred Renfer, both of Lawrence; five grandchildren: Raymond Renfer-Llorens, Aurora Mae Llorens, Destiney Renfer, Heather Renfer and Amy (Cameron) Reyes; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia (Charles) Edwards of Lawrence; and a brother; Raymond (Lynn) Griffin of Watervliet.

Barbara spent most of her life in California, working as an apartment manager. She also was a volunteer at the local hospital. Barbara was loved by everyone. In her spare time she enjoyed square dancing and playing with her Chihuahua puppies.

Due to the current situation, a private family visitation and service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. Pastor Steven Bisbee of the Hartford General Baptist Church will officiate. Barbara will be laid to rest in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence Township, following the service.
