Barbara Louise Eiswald

Barbara Louise Eiswald, 90, of Holland, formerly of Hartford, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Holland Hospital in Holland.

Barbara was born May 8, 1922, in Eau Claire, the daughter of Harry and Bessie (Easton) Preston, both of whom precede her in passing. Also preceding her in passing were her husband, Ernest Eiswald; four brothers; Robert, Dale, Marion and Cecil; and a sister, Helen.

Barbara proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy for two years during World War II.

Barbara is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Eiswald of Holland; a son, Michael (Sharon) Eiswald of Holland; grandchildren, Paul, Cole, Michael, Todd, Katie, Seth, Cassidy and Cayla; and a great-grandson, Hunter.

The family will welcome friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. The service to honor her memory, with military rites to be performed by the North Berrien Military Rites team, will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, at the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hartford, with Pastor Frederick S. Adrian serving as officiant. Following services, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to the church.
