Barbara Jane Brooks

Barbara Jane Brooks was born Dec. 2, 1940 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Lyle and Betty (Conklin) Brooks, both of whom precede her in passing.

Barbara passed away suddenly at the age of 81, on Aug. 21, 2022, at her home in Paw Paw.

Barbara is survived by longtime friend, Mistelle Lanko.

Barbara was a volunteer at the D.H.S. for a number of years. She loved taking walks up town, where she would shop for hours, and she enjoyed having conversations with people. When she could, she would go to the church services when they were held at the Miller Court apartment complex, where she lived for almost 15 years.

A gathering of friends will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, at the New Hope Fellowship Church in Paw Paw, where a celebration of life service to honor Barbara's memory will begin at 12 noon, with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Barbara will be laid to rest with a private ceremony in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Miller Court.
