Anthony Gerard Meloche

Anthony Gerard Meloche, 68, of Hartford, was born June 20, 1950, in Detroit, one of seven children born to Norman and Anna Jean (O'Grady) Meloche, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing were a brother. Mike; brothers-in-law: Dick Peters and Les Easa; sister-in-law, Suzy Meloche, and niece, Sabrina Black.

Anthony passed away at Spectrum Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, Sunday, May 5, 2019.

On July 13, 1974, Tony and Susan Favara were united in marriage. Tony retired as an elementary music teacher for over 30 years in the Dowagiac Union School system. After retiring, he worked at Sears in Benton Harbor until they closed. He then worked at the Four Winds Casino in Hartford. In his spare time, he enjoyed organ music, classical music, and the music of the 60's, especially the Beatles. He also participated in community theater productions as both a musician and actor at the Beckwith in Dowagiac and enjoyed many joyous summers fishing for walleye at Houghton Lake.

Tony is survived by his wife, Susan; two sons: Paul (Abigail) Meloche of Watsonville, Calif., and Steven (Amy) Meloche of Hartford; two grandsons; five siblings: Norma Peters of St. Augustine, Fla., Dori (Tom) of Livonia, Mich., Magie Easa of Wyoming, Mich., Jim (Brenda) Meloche of Wayne, Mich., and Bob (Pam) Meloche of Macon, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Maureen Meloche of Rehobeth Beach, Del., as well as several nieces and nephews.

As to Tony's wishes, cremation will take place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Marie Yeager Cancer Center, the Dowagiac School Foundation, or the Beckwith Theater.
