Alta Scott, 90, of Hartford passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014, at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.
Alta was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Hector, Ark., the daughter of Granville and Gertie (Rogers) Prince, both of whom preceded her in passing. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John, and a sister, Mary Prince.
Alta enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when she had a garden. She loved anything that she could get to grow. She would spend hours watching the squirrels at her apartment. She was an awesome cook and loved making peanut brittle at Christmas.
Alta is survived by her children: Rosemary (Hervey) Tanner of Coloma; Clyde (Sharon) Gott of Hillsboro, Mo.; Anna (Ted) Mabry of Paragould, Ark.; John (Pat) Scott of Covert; Dale (Lennie) Scott of Charlotte, N.C.; Ronnie (Pat) Scott of Sodus and Connie Osborn (Larry Dillenbeck) of Hartford, 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters: Lucille Key of Fort Smith, Ark.; Wanda Patterson of Shelbyville, Mo.; Versie Cassidy of Stockton, Calif.; and Shirley Jarvis of Russelville, Ark.; and a brother; Norman Prince of Russelville, Ark.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, followed at 1 p.m. by a service to honor Alta's memory. Officiating will be Pastor Doyle Jackson of River of Life Church in Watervliet. Alta will be laid to rest in North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alta's name may be made to Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
