Alice N. Skidmore

July 13, 1941 — March 10, 2015

Alice N. Skidmore, 73, of Bainbridge Township, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at her home.

Alice was born July 13, 1941, in Russellville, Ala., the daughter of Lowe and Rosey (Lewey) Kuykendall, both of whom precede her in passing. She was also preceded by a brother, Persie L. Kuykendall.

Alice was a leader of the Girl Scouts, Brownies and the 4-H. She was formerly employed at The Saddle Shop in Watervliet and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Alice is survived by her husband, J. Z. Skidmore, whom she married on July 31, 1961; two daughters; Brenda (Dennis) Harris of Coloma and Lisa (Billy) Hendrixson of Stevensville; six grandchildren: Arica (Bryan) Angelo, Christin (George) Smith, Kayla (Randy) Wells, Monica Harris, Matthew and Michael Hendrixson; great-grandchildren; Jordyn, Alysse, Kaitlyn Angelo and Addison Wells; sister, Avery Coats of Russellville, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. A celebration of life service to honor Alice's memory will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, with Chaplain Scott Labbe officiating. Alice will be laid to rest in Millburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alice's name may be made to Hospice at Home in St. Joseph.
