Alex Eddie Murphy, 60, passed away suddenly at his home in Keeler on Friday morning, May 31, 2013.
A memorial celebration to honor Alex's life, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 6, at the family home. Please come with your best story about your experiences with Alex.
Alex was born in Joiner, Ark., on Feb. 21, 1953, to Alex and Mildred George-Murphy, who preceded him in passing. He was employed at numerous area farms as their handyman and did just about everything. His hobbies were working on lawn mowers with his grandson, fishing and spending precious moments with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Fuller-Murphy; his seven children: Gale (Kevin) Schneider of Bangor, Alex Eddie Murphy Jr. of Grand Junction, Mary (Tony Westerhoff) Murphy of Bloomingdale, Randy (Angela Grahm) Murphy and Bobby Murphy, both of Grand Junction, Brandy (Jack Peterson) Murphy and Jody (Nathan McCann), both of Hartford. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Niki, Cody, Amber, Kali, Toby, Ashley, Brody, Joey, Derek, Tony, Haley and Jacob.
